Volver al gesto (Return to the Gesture) is a project that explores the importance of words and, simultaneously, the impossibility of communication. Functioning as a personal diary during my first year in France, I embroidered more than 2,000 words onto my own photographs, thus constructing a new, intimate, and fragmented vocabulary.
The images—printed analog photographs—are hand-intervened with thread, where the embroidery not only writes but also insists and transforms.
